Area guide: Lambeth

The London Borough of Lambeth contains the cultural delights of Brixton, diverse community of Stockwell, 'up and coming' Streatham and leafiness of Clapham. The borough is located in South London and wedged between Wandsworth and Southwark. It has at least six leisure centres, almost 60 parks and open spaces as well as various other sports facilities for hire within its schools and community centres. Perhaps the best examples of Lambeth parks are Clapham Common and Brockwell Park with 11 a side football pitches, bowling greens, cricket nets and tennis courts for hire. Clapham Common is also a vast open space and therefore ideal for jogging, informal kickarounds and fitness bootcamps which take place all over the park. Kennington Park located near to Oval tube station also has a brand new 3G 11 a side pitch for hire with four tennis courts, a cricket pitch, netball courts and table tennis tables all available within the park. 

If you're looking for community centres and school facilities for hire in Lambeth there are plenty of options of available and some have fantastic amenities. City Heights Academy in Tulse Hill has an indoor sports hall, dance studio and multi-use games area, Dunraven School has a sports hall, Elm Green has astroturf football pitches and a sports hall and Evelyn Grace Academy has one of the best 3G football pitches in South London and is absolutely ideal for 8 a side football. There are also further facilities within Lambeth's many leisure centres such as the Brixton Recreation Centre, Ferndale Sports Centre and Clapham Leisure Centre
