Activities in Greenwich

Greenwich Park is easily the most pleasant park in Greenwich for sport and recreation, with six tennis courts, undulating landscape and large grass areas for formal and casual play. The Rangers Courts are also located near the park whilst further away from Greenwich lies Blackheath which marks the start of the London marathon. Greenwich University's Avery Hill Campus has a sports hall for hire with fitness classes and a dance studio too. In fact there are many schools in Greenwich with sports facilities for hire such as Blackheath High School and Pilgrims' Way Primary School.

But the many Greenwich leisure centres are where it is truly at. A favourite is the newly renovated Charlton Lido with one of the oldest outdoor swimming pools in London. Leisure centres in Greenwich are in abundance, particularly as it was home to Greenwich Leisure Limited (funny that...) who still operate Arches Leisure Centre, Tiller Leisure Centre and several others. Finally other sports facilities in Greenwich Parks are available in Hornfair Park, Kidbrooke Green Park and Mountsfield Park.
