Hackney is an edgy part of London, Southern and eastern parts of the borough are commonly, but unofficially, regarded as being part of east London, with northern and western areas considered to belong to north London. However, like most of the London Boroughs it has become lethally expensive in recent years.
Although it’s not home to any of London’s larger sports teams, Hackney is unique in the way that it offers such a vast level of community sports. It has a broad range of sports facilities and parks such as Clissold Park in Stoke Newington, London Fields and Hackney Downs with tennis courts, football pitches for hire and a lot more.
Hackney historically produces a lot of musical talent, for example past residents have included Paloma Faith, Labrinth, Rudimental and Leona Lewis, on a side note Professor Green also lives there.
OpenPlay is a platform to connect sports facilities to their users. We're breaking down barriers to getting more people active.
